Centre of Excellence

Knollcrest Nursery has received the National Centre of Excellence Award from the National Children’s Nurseries Association (Early Childhood Ireland)in 2002-2003, 2004-2006,2007-2010 and again for a fourth time 2011-2014. This award demonstrates to parents, visitors and members of the public a commitment to quality and success in implementing and maintaining consistently high standards of excellence.

We are the only full daycare Nursery in Galway city or county to receive this award on four consecutive occasions.

Green Flag

Knollcrest Nursery was awarded the International Green Flag on 4 occasions:

1. March 2010 for “Re-cycling”

2. March 2014 for “Energy”

3. May 2016 “Water”.

4. May 2018  “Transport”

 

We continue to diligently adhere to all our Green Flag Achievements and value the importance for pre-school children to develop a knowledge and understanding of environmental awareness.

We are currently working on the Bio-Diversity theme of the Green Flag and hope to achieve the standard in 2022

Healthy Ireland Award

In April 2016 Knollcrest Nursery received a “Healthy Ireland Award” for undertaking and continuing to achieve the required high standard in promoting the importance of Health and Nutrition, Emotions and Well-being, and Physical Activity in young Children.

Again in 2021 we have been re - validated and approved for the "Healthy Ireland Award"

 

In 2018 Knollcrest Nursery took part in the Healthy Ireland Initiative for “Promoting Play and Physical Activity in the Outdoor Environment”. Our location and setting is ideal for learning and development to take place in a rich, nourishing and natural environment.
